FLINTRIDGE LA CANADA GUILD OF HUNTINGTON HOSPITAL
Our Guild is still committed to raise $50,000 to support Huntington Hospital‘s Lung Cancer Center Nurse Navigator Position. Huntington Hospital has introduced several leading-edge treatment protocols to our region, including robotic-assisted and minimally invasive surgery. Now, the Cancer Center is looking to add additional Nurse Navigators to a robust and growing department. A Nurse Navigator is a registered nurse who is responsible for streamlining and coordinating the entire, often-complex diagnosis, treatment and follow-up process for cancer patients. This may include advocacy with insurance companies, assistance with scheduling, and much more. For patients who require hospital admission, inpatient care coordinators are also available to assist with discharge and post-hospitalization services. The care-coordination program in our Cancer Center is unique in our region and provides significant benefits and peace of mind to our patients and their families. From the moment someone becomes a patient, these new nurse navigators will answer questions and coordinate every aspect of care so that patients can focus on what is most important – getting better and being with their families. By funding these pillars of the cancer center staff, the Guild would add ease to the patient experience by ensuring every patient undergoing cancer treatment has someone to navigate them through a difficult process.
Thank you for your support in helping us reach this critical goal. The Flintridge La Canada Guild would be grateful for any donation in support of Huntington Hospital!
